Das US-Unternehmen VoipSwitch, bekannt für mobile Voice-over-IP Lösungen wird in Zukunft auch BlackBerry Smartphones unterstützen. Auf der diesjährigen ITEXPO in Miami hat der Sip Client für BlackBerry mit dem Namen Vippie for BlackBerry die Auszeichnung “Best of Show” erhalten.
Voiceserve today announced that its Vippie SIP client for Blackberry has received a “Best of Show Award” in the providers solutions category at TMC’s ITEXPO East 2010 in Miami. Vippie for Blackberry is a sip software client that enables users to make and receive phone calls over data connection, either WIFI or 3G or EDGE. The softphone can work with voipswitch, the platform developed by Voiceserve, but also with any 3rd party SIP compliant platforms.

Zu Deutsch können mit Vippie for BlackBerry Telefonate über die Datenverbindung des BlackBerry geführt werden, ganz egal ob WiFi, 3G oder EDGE angeboten wird. Aktuell ist Vippie für BlackBerry noch nicht auf dem Markt, auch konnte ich noch keine Preisinformation finden. Die Providerlizenz für das iPhone – dafür ist die Software schon erhältlich – kostet 2.800 US-Dollar.
