In der letzten Woche habe ich ja erst über die neue BlackBerry Uhr berichtet. Mittlerweile hat sich viel getan, das Produkt ist quasi fertig entwickelt. Alle Infos zur BlackBerry Uhr mit dem Namen inPulse Smartwatch findet Ihr auf getinpulse.com.

Interessant ist der FAQ-Bereich der Seite, dort werden so ziemlich alle auftretenden Fragen beantwortet, hier ein Auszug des technischen und BlackBerry-spezifischen Bereichs:

• How long does the battery last? inPulse has a rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery inside. Under normal use, i.e. paired with a BlackBerry, receiving and displaying 20-30 updates per day, the battery should last approximately 4 days. Since inPulse is highly configurable, the battery life will vary from user to user.
• How do I recharge my inPulse? inPulse charges via a built-in micro-USB jack. If you have a fairly new BlackBerry smartphone (such as a BlackBerry Storm, Tour, 8520, 8900 or Bold 9700) then inPulse can be charged using the same charger as your BlackBerry. A micro-USB cable is also included. Charging is also very quick and usually takes less than 30 minutes.
• Do I need to download a BlackBerry application? Yes. inPulse requires a special BlackBerry application to keep track of your recently received messages. Our easy-to-use application is straight forward to install, runs in the background and offers you the ability to customize your inPulse smartwatch.
• Is inPulse waterproof? inPulse has been designed to withstand mild splashes (from washing hands, rain, etc) but has not yet been rated against any waterproof or water-resistant standards.
• Do I need a data plan? Nope! inPulse will still be able to connect to your BlackBerry and receive caller ID and recently received text message (SMS) information. It will still function as a really cool watch! If you’ve already have a data plan for your BlackBerry, then inPulse will automatically intercept and display email messages.
• Can I send messages from my inPulse? inPulse is simply a display-only accessory. In the future, other functionality may be added. Feel free to send us ideas for new features, if you’d like!
• Can I use any BlackBerry model? Our BlackBerry application supports all current BlackBerry models, as well as any BlackBerry smartphone with OS 4.3 and above.

Die Uhr kann ab sofort für 149 Dollar vorbestellt werden. Ich bin mir sicher dass es diverse Tests und Reviews geben wird, sobald die Uhr auf dem Markt ist.

Vor einigen Tagen habe ich das Bild einer RIM Armbanduhr mit Bluetooth gesehen. Nachdem meine grandiose Entdeckung der ersten BlackBerry Nautilus Bilder ja bekanntlich ein Reinfall war bin ich momentan wieder etwas vorsichtig was das Streuen von Gerüchten anbelangt.

Doch seit ein paar Stunden sind alle BlackBerry Weblogs aus dem Häuschen und sehen in dem Foto der Armbanduhr ein neues BlackBerry Modell. BlackBerryOS beschreibt die Armbanduhr von RIM mit dem angeblichen Codenamen Alpha 1 folgendermaßen:

The Alpha 1 BlackBerry Bluetooth Headset uses the noise reduction technology; is in black chrome shell with BlackBerry logo and buttons.
It allows you to receive calls, listen to your favourite music and voice commands for navigation applications.
The BlackBerry Bluetooth Watch would support BlackBerry phone, and will give alerts when emails, BlackBerry Messenger messages, texts, Tweets and Facebook wallposts are received. It’ll also allow for wireless connection to transfer music and videos BlackBerry for stereo.

Eigentlich wollte ich das Ganze noch auf sich beruhen lassen und erst warten, ob sich die Uhr als Fake herausstellt. Der Kommentar vom rimarkable.com über die Uhr ist der eigentliche Grund wieso ich einen Beitrag dazu verfasst habe:
